Cookies Policy
Last updated: 5 September 2026
Most cookie policies are written to cover a site that tracks you. This one is not, and it is short for that reason: we run no analytics, no advertising pixels and no cross-site trackers of any kind. Nothing on this site follows you off it.
The short version
You can browse this entire site — every trip, every photo, the booking form included — without a single cookie being set. The only things stored in your browser are the ones listed below, and only one of them is optional.
What Cookies Are
A cookie is a small file a website asks your browser to keep and hand back on your next visit. Local storage does a similar job but stays in the browser and is never sent anywhere. Both are listed together here, because from where you sit the distinction matters less than the honest question: what is being kept, and who can read it.
Everything This Site Stores
The complete list. If something is not here, we are not storing it.
| What | Kind | Why it exists | How long |
|---|---|---|---|
bbs_cookie_consent | Local storage — not a cookie, and never sent to our server | Remembers the choice you made about embedded content, so you are not asked again on every page. | Until you change it or clear your browser data |
bbs_portal | First-party cookie, HttpOnly, Secure | Only exists if you sign in to the private guest portal. It is a signed token that says “this browser logged in” — it holds no name, no email, nothing about you. | 30 days |
bbs_portal_admin | First-party cookie, HttpOnly, Secure | The same thing for our own team’s admin area. You will never receive this one. | 7 days |
| Google Maps | Third-party, set by google.com | Only if you allow embedded content and the map on our charter page loads. Google sets these, reads them, and answers for them — we cannot see them. | Set by Google — see Google’s own policy |
What We Do Not Use
No Google Analytics or any other analytics product. No Meta pixel, no advertising or remarketing tags, no conversion trackers. No session recording, no heatmaps, no fingerprinting. We do not build a profile of you, and we have nothing to sell to anyone who would want one.
This is not a promise about the future dressed up as a fact about today — it is a description of what is running on this site right now. If that ever changes, this page changes first, and the banner asks you again before anything new loads.
The One Choice You Have
Our charter page carries a Google map of the cruising ground. It is the only third-party embed on the site, and it is the only thing the cookie banner decides. Say no and the map is never requested — you get a link to open it on Google’s own site instead, on your terms. Say yes and it loads, and Google may set its own cookies as it would anywhere else.
Changing Your Mind
Your answer is kept in your browser, never on our servers, and it is never used to recognise you. Change it whenever you like — here, or from “Cookie settings” at the foot of any page.
Your Browser Can Overrule Us
Every browser lets you block or delete cookies and site data, and you do not need our permission. Blocking everything is fine here — the site works without any of it. The only thing you lose is the portal login, which cannot stay signed in without its cookie, and the memory of the choice above, which means the notice will greet you again.
Changes to This Policy
When what we store changes, this page is updated and the date at the top moves with it. Anything that adds a new reason to store something asks you again rather than assuming your last answer covers it.
